01Arrival in Chengdu, ChinaArrival · Hotel transfer
Arrive in Chengdu, China, and transfer to your hotel.
02Fly to Lhasa (3,700 m)Flight · Arrival in Tibet
Fly to Lhasa and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a walk around Barkhor Street and the market.
03Lhasa city tourPotala Palace · Jokhang Temple · Barkhor
Visit the world-famous Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, followed by time around Barkhor.
04Drive to Shigatse (approx. 360 km)Tashilhunpo Monastery
Drive to Shigatse (approximately 3,900 m) via the new road. Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, home to the 33-metre gilded statue of the future Buddha Maitreya.
05Drive to Tingri (Segar)Approx. 250 km
Drive approximately 250 km to Tingri (also written as Segar in the supplied programme).
06Rongbuk Monastery and Everest Base CampMount Everest views
Drive to the Rongbuk Monastery area and visit Everest Base Camp in the afternoon. In the evening, visit Rongbuk Monastery and enjoy views of Mount Everest from the base-camp area.
07Drive to Saga (approx. 280 km)Join the regular Kailash route
Drive approximately 280 km to Saga and join the regular Kailash route. The tour crew will meet the group here, including the cook who will prepare and serve meals.
08Drive to Lake Mansarovar (approx. 385 km)Holy lake · Approx. 4,500 m
Drive to sacred Lake Mansarovar. Enjoy the first glimpse of the holy lake and views of Mount Kailash from Horchu Pass. Stay at Chhu Gompa on the shore of Lake Mansarovar.
09Lake Mansarovar worship and drive to DarchenDarchen · Approx. 4,560 m
Spend time at Lake Mansarovar for puja, havan, worship, meditation and other personal spiritual practices. In the afternoon, drive approximately 30 km to Darchen.
10Darchen to Diraphuk — Parikrama beginsApprox. 18 km · 4–5 hours walking
The Kailash circuit begins. Drive approximately 10 km to Tarboche, then trek towards Diraphuk. The walking portion is approximately 4–5 hours. Diraphuk is at about 4,890 m.
11Trek to Zuthulphuk via Dolma La PassApprox. 22 km · 8–10 hours walking
Continue the Parikrama on the most demanding day of the circuit. Trek over Dolma La Pass (approximately 5,600 m), offer a short prayer at the pass, and continue towards Gaurikunda before proceeding to Zuthulphuk (approximately 4,790 m).
12Zuthulphuk to Darchen, then drive to SagaParikrama concludes
After breakfast, walk approximately 8 km to the point where the vehicle will be waiting. Drive to Darchen, marking the end of the Parikrama. After lunch, continue by road to Saga.
13Drive back to ShigatseReturn journey
Drive back to Shigatse.
14Drive back to LhasaTransfer to hotel
Drive back to Lhasa and transfer to the hotel.
15Fly from Lhasa to ChengduAirport transfer · China domestic flight
Transfer to Lhasa airport for the flight to Chengdu, then transfer to the hotel.
16Departure from ChengduTour concludes
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight. The tour concludes.
